Lake Houses: Homes with Lake Rights
What are Lake Rights? Who Has Them?
Homes advertised with lake rights usually mean that the homeowner will have exclusive use of certain amenities on the lake. This could be a private boat launch area, beach, or even a boat slip or dock.
NOTE: Some lakes have public access points, which means other people besides homeowners will have access to the lake.
What does "boat slip included" or "boat slip available" mean? What is the difference?
When a home has a boat slip “included” on Lake Wallenpaupack, the boat slip should transfer to the new owner of the property upon settlement.
On the other hand, if a home has a boat slip “available” that means that a boat slip is not guaranteed. Basically, community boat slips will be assigned to new owners, but may be subject to a waiting list.
By the way, a great option for boaters is to rent a boat slip from a nearby commercial marina until a community boat slip becomes available.
All information provided on the MLS is deemed reliable but not guaranteed. Be sure to confirm status of boat slip availability or waiting list status if this is important to you.
